Croesus Lexis is a classical learning companion — daily maxims, a pantheon of thinkers, the roots of language, and the symbols of antiquity. This policy explains what information the app handles, why, and the choices you have. We built Croesus Lexis to be enjoyed privately: it works without an account, and the great majority of what you do stays on your own device.

Information the App Handles

Croesus Lexis does not require you to create an account or provide your name, email address, or any other personal identifier to use it. The information involved falls into a few narrow categories. On-device content such as your reading streak, unlocked honors, collected symbols, explored roots, quiz results, in-app treasury balances, and your preferences (appearance, reminders, and numeral style) is stored locally on your device. Notification data may include a device push token issued by the operating system and its messaging provider so that reminders and announcements can reach you. Diagnostic and usage data — such as anonymous app-performance metrics, crash reports, and coarse feature-usage counts — may be collected to keep the app stable and to understand which parts of the compendium are useful. This diagnostic data is not used to identify you.

How the Information Is Used

Information is used only to make the app work and to improve it: to remember your progress and preferences between sessions, to keep your streak and treasury accurate, to deliver the daily readings and any reminders you have enabled, to diagnose crashes and performance problems, and to understand in aggregate how the compendium is explored so it can be refined. The information is never used to build advertising profiles, and it is never sold.

Reminders and Notifications

If you enable the daily reminder, notifications are scheduled on your device and are shown at the time you choose. You can change the reminder time or turn reminders off at any time from within the app, or disable notifications entirely in your device settings. Where push announcements are supported, a device token is used solely to deliver those messages and can be revoked by disabling notifications for the app.

Third-Party Services

Croesus Lexis relies on a small number of reputable service providers to deliver notifications and to collect anonymous diagnostic and stability data, including Google’s Firebase platform. These providers process only what is necessary for their function and act on our behalf under their own privacy and security commitments. The app does not integrate advertising networks and does not share your activity with advertisers.

Where Your Data Lives

Your progress, treasury, and preferences are kept on your device and are not synchronised to any account by default. Diagnostic and notification data handled by our service providers is retained only for as long as it is needed for the purposes described above and is then discarded or anonymised in line with those providers’ practices. Because on-device data is stored locally, removing the app from your device removes that data with it.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with third parties except the service providers described above who process it on our behalf, or where disclosure is required to comply with the law, protect the rights and safety of users, or enforce the terms under which the app is offered.

Security

Reasonable technical and organisational measures are used to protect the limited information the app handles, including reliance on your device’s built-in protections and encrypted connections to the services named above. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, but the app is designed to hold as little information as possible in order to keep that risk low.

Children’s Privacy

Croesus Lexis is intended for a general audience and is suitable for learners of many ages. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children, and it requires no personal details to use. If you believe a child has provided information that should not have been collected, please contact us and it will be removed.

Your Choices

You remain in control. You can enable or disable reminders and notifications, change your appearance and numeral preferences, and, where offered by your platform, limit diagnostic sharing through your device settings. International Use

Croesus Lexis may be used from anywhere in the world. The service providers that support notifications and diagnostics may process data in countries other than your own; where they do, they apply their own safeguards for such transfers.

Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated from time to time as the app evolves or as legal requirements change. When it is updated, the “last updated” date at the top of this page will change. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy, so you are encouraged to review it occasionally.
